Greenwood Apps LLC

We build the software your business keeps doing by hand.

An AI-forward software studio. We design, build and run the agents and automations that take repetitive work off your team, then stay on to keep them working. Working software every week, not a deck.

Services

Most people start with the audit.

You do not have to know what you want built. The usual first step is a few days of us working out where your time actually goes, and the build follows from that. We are a small studio, so you talk to the person doing the work.

Start here · AI readiness audit

Start here. A few days inside your business, and a plan you could hand to anyone.

We spend a few days learning how your team actually works, find the three to five tasks eating the most hours, and hand back a prioritized plan: what to fix first, roughly what each one costs to build, and what it gives you back. Most people who do this go on to build something. You are not obliged to.

  • A ranked list of what to automate first, and what to leave alone
  • Estimated hours saved and build effort, per item
  • The plan is yours to keep, including if you take it to another shop

Workflow automation

The manual steps, gone.

Most companies already pay for every system they need. The real cost is the person copying data between them. We connect what you already own so the repetitive work runs on its own, and tell you honestly when a problem does not need custom software at all.

  • Lead intake to CRM to follow-up, invoice processing, appointment reminders
  • Document processing: pulling data out of PDFs, forms and intake packets
  • Built on Zapier, Make or n8n when that is enough, custom code when it is not

AI assistants

Assistants that answer, qualify and book.

Two kinds. One faces your customers, on the website, over SMS, or on the phone when nobody picks up. The other faces your staff, grounded in your own SOPs, contracts and product docs, so nobody has to hunt through a shared drive again.

  • Website chat, SMS and voice reception that qualifies leads and books appointments
  • Internal knowledge assistants trained on your documents, not the open internet
  • Answers cite their source, so your team can check the assistant's work

Legacy modernization

Move off the system everyone is afraid to touch.

Rewrites fail because they ask you to stop shipping. We put tests and observability around what exists first, then carve out one seam at a time. The old system keeps running until the day it no longer needs to.

  • Front-end framework migrations, incrementally, with no feature freeze
  • Test and observability coverage before anything moves
  • Database, cloud and framework upgrades that stay reversible

Fractional CTO

A technical decision-maker on retainer.

For teams making expensive technology decisions without a senior engineer in the room. Someone accountable for the architecture, in the vendor calls, and honest with you about which parts of the AI pitch are real.

  • Architecture and roadmap ownership
  • Build-versus-buy calls and vendor evaluation
  • Hiring help when you are ready for a team of your own

Team training and adoption

Workshops that leave your staff genuinely useful with Claude, ChatGPT and Copilot, plus a prompt library and a usage policy you can actually enforce.

Content and marketing automation

Social posts, email campaigns, review responses and SEO content, running on the same platform we built and use ourselves.

Ongoing support

Monitoring, maintenance, and a new automation each month. Automation rots quietly when an API changes underneath it, and a retainer is what catches that before you do.

How we work

Four steps, and you see working software in the second one.

Long discovery phases exist to protect the agency, not you. We compress the talking and get something real in front of you early, because that is when a plan is still cheap to change.

  1. 01

    Map

We trace the process as it really runs, including the parts nobody documented and the spreadsheet somebody maintains at home. No proposal until we can describe your workflow back to you.

  2. 02

    Prove

One narrow slice, built for real against your data. You see working software before you commit to a scope, which is also how we find out what the map got wrong.

  3. 03

    Ship

Production-shaped increments, with tests and monitoring from the first commit. You get working software every week instead of a reveal at the end.

  4. 04

    Run

The part most projects skip. Automation rots quietly when an API changes underneath it, so we stay on to watch it work and fix what drifts.

Stack

Boring, proven tools. Chosen so you can hire someone else to maintain it.

Nothing here is exotic. If we stopped answering the phone tomorrow, any competent team could pick up what we built.

  • TypeScript
  • Next.js
  • React
  • Node.js
  • Python
  • PostgreSQL
  • Prisma
  • tRPC
  • Claude / Anthropic API
  • Model Context Protocol
  • OpenAI
  • Google Cloud
  • Vercel
  • Stripe
  • Auth0
  • Playwright

About us

You talk to the people doing the work.

We are deliberately small. That means the person who scopes your project is the person who answers your email, and the person who writes the code is the one who explains it.

Angelica Grunewald

Founder

I run product, operations and the first conversation. If you book a call, you are talking to me: I will work out what you actually need, whether it is worth building at all, and what it would take. Some of you already know me as Angelica Automates, where I build automations in public. Most of what we ship here I have either scoped or had a hand in.

James Grunewald

Founder

I have been building software for over ten years, most of it in the unglamorous middle: migrating front-end frameworks to modern tooling at Gap, untangling systems that grew faster than anyone planned for, and shipping things that had to keep working long after launch. I do the technical implementation here. Greenwood Apps points that experience at businesses that cannot justify a full engineering team, and when you hire us there is no account manager in between.

Tell us what your team still does by hand.

15 minutes, no pitch deck. Describe the process and we will tell you honestly whether it is worth automating, what it would take, and whether we are the right people to do it.
